About Us
Afrotame is a professional hair care line that is specifically formulated for type 3 and 4 hair. It contains
no sulfates, no parabens and no silicones. Our products are made from high quality ingredients such as
hempseed oil, argan oil, olive oil, avocado oil and mango butter; along with other beneficial natural oils
like coco butter and shea butter.
Our products will moisturize your hair and scalp while promoting healthy growth. They will repair
damaged hair and help control frizz. We also have several blends that work great for length retention!
We know how important it is to have healthy hair that looks great every day – so we set out to create
the best products possible for you to use at home.
Our Story
After struggling with Alopecia (Hair loss), Zamantimande Kunene started to look into ingredients that she hoped could provide a solution.
That research helped her make the decision to launch her brand, Afrotame Hair Care, in 2018 with only two products. Whipped Mango Butter and Strengthening Oil. She created Afrotame in her kitchen, today the brand offers 15 products for washing, conditioning, and styling. the star ingredient of the range is the Hempseed oil.
Hemp seed oil is packed with lipids, which add moisture and shine to your hair. The oil helps to strengthen fragile strands, give your hair body and may even make your hair thicker. It can also help promote new hair growth and prevent hair loss from taking place.
Our primary concern is to repair and regenerate the hair growth cycle that has been damaged by the harsh chemical relaxers and styling techniques that have been used before. The brand caters for all hair types from wavy, curly and coily.
The brand sources natural and organic ingredients for its products that cleanse, condition, and strengthen coils. The brand’s fan-favorite Hydrating Mask treatment, softens and restores dry hair by combining hydrating powers of Mango Butter, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, and Hemp oil.
It also has the kids range which is gently and formulated specifically for kid’s scalps. Each product smells absolutely amazing the moment you open it — the perfect mix of floral and sweet aromas in the kid’s range!
